Parvathi Nachiappan is the founding Chairman and the wife of the deceased R. Nachiappan after whom the foundation was named and created.
She has been a tireless giver and has given all her life. She lost her husband at the tender age of 37 and raised five children by herself. All her children have left the nest and are settled in various parts of the world. She has demonstrated resilience and prevailed against great adversity and continues to inspire, nurture and guide her flock.
She has spent the past twenty years by giving her time and services to a temple in Chennai called the Arupadai Veedu Murugan temple. This temple houses the deities from the six Murugan temples situated all over Tamil Nadu in one location.
She has made large donations to various temples. These include making cash donations for the building of the Palani temple at the Arupadai Veedu Temple where she is one of the trustees, contributing towards the building of living quarters for the priests, donating Jewelry and cash donations to the temples in Benares and Mathur, providing food for the pilgrims every year during Diwali and rebuilding the rest houses for pilgrims at the Benares temple, contributing to the Spastic society for disabled children in Chennai, providing financial assistance for eye testing and operations for the needy in rural villages. She has also provided financial assistance to needy students to pursue their education on a need to basis and helping with weddings of poor people.
In recognition of her continued philanthropy, she was honored with numerous titles and awards by the people of her community.

Al Alagappan is the son of late R. Nachiappan and was inducted as a trustee on 14 June 2014. Al is a seasoned banking professional who has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has worked in five countries including London, Singapore, India, Philippines and Malaysia. His area of expertise is in the consumer finance space.
Al used to be the Chief Operating Officer of ICLIF Leadership and Government Centre, a special purpose vehicle of Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank) from 2013 to 2015.He was also an adjunct faculty and leadership coach with ICLIF and has his own Executive Coaching practice under the name of ‘Janaa Praana Coaching Partners Sdn Bhd’. He is a certified coach with the International Coaching Academy (ICA) and is a member of ‘The International Coaching Federation’ (ICF).
Al’s credentials prior to joining Iclif include being the Regional CEO for Asia and Eastern Europe for the International Commercial Banking group (ICB) that was incorporated in Switzerland. He had P & L responsibility and was a member of the board for the Banks in Albania, Laos and Bangladesh. Prior to that, he was also the President of MBF Cards Sdn Bhd and MBF Holdings Berhad in Malaysia, President of Citicorp Financial Services Inc in the Philippines and has held several senior roles in multi-national organisations in the region.
Most recently, he was the Chief General Manager and Advisor to the MD for the Myanmar Citizens Bank based in Myanmar in 2016.
He is a Chartered Accountant by training and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Fellow of the Chartered Global Management Accountants (UK) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (India) and International Accountants (UK). He is also a black belt in Six Sigma.
Above all, he is very keen to give back to society and has been the driving force behind the establishment of the Nachiappan foundation trust. He strongly believes is ‘giving’ with no strings attached and ‘paying it forward’ to make this world a better place. He believes in GIVING can take many forms that include giving of his Time, Ideas, Connections, Knowledge, Energy and skill sets with the end of making this world a better place. He is also big on ‘random acts of kindness’ to strangers.

Muthiah Nachiappan is another son of Late R. Nachiappan and a new trustee inducted on 14 June 2014. He is an accomplished Educator and successful businessman who currently resides and works in the United States.
Muthiah has completed two undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Business Administration at Bangalore University, India and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA respectively. He has also completed his MBA at Drake University, Iowa, and the Certified Financial Planner program at the College of Financial Planning, Colorado in the United States.
For over fifteen (15) years, Muthiah taught various business courses at a number of colleges and universities in the U.S. including the University of Redlands, Union Institute, Santa Monica College and Rio Hondo College. Muthiah also taught at the Los Angeles Business College for a few years before he was appointed the Academic Dean of the college.
After starting a few successful businesses, Muthiah started a digital Live Scan fingerprinting company in Los Angeles about seven years ago and has grown the company to perform nationwide and international criminal background checks through the Department of Justice, FBI and various other agencies database.
Muthiah is passionate about the importance of providing the needed resources to educate deserving students who don’t have the money or the support to complete their primary and/or postsecondary education. He remains affiliated with the colleges in which he taught and counsels students during his free time.
Muthiah sums up the Foundation’s work by stating, “The huge dividends that a good education pays will last a lifetime not to mention all of the other resulting rewards of self-confidence, self-esteem, self-sufficiency and the enormous productivity gains and contributions to society and family.”

Nachiappan is 36 years old and is the son of the late Ramanathan, who was the oldest son of R Nachiappan after whom this foundation has been established. He had his primary and secondary education at Rishi Valley School, Andhra Pradesh India. It is a leading residential school founded by the Philosopher Jiddu Krishnmurthi. The school is reputed for its holistic approach to education in the spirit of Krishnamurthi’s pedagogical vision. Nachiappan imbibed most of his core values and creative instincts at the school, before he was drawn to Shrishti school of art and design in Bangalore, where he further honed his creativity and artistic skills and became a truly independent young man searching for ways to make his life more meaningful through his art, music, creativity and giving.
Nachiappan has worked as an artist and designer in Bangalore for four years doing natural building and interactive installations. He has created many wondrous pieces of outdoor art in Pondicherry, Goa, Chennai and Bangalore and contributed to the private landscape of these places and has left his footprints in the sands of time.
His passion for organic farming drew him back to the family plantation in Coorg, where he continued to pursue his passion for the arts and music while developing the plantation into an organic farm growing coffee, pepper and fruits. He practices sustainable farming where he tries to maintain a balance between agricultural practices and protecting the biodiversity and rain forests which are disappearing at a rapid rate.
He has his base in the plantation and has set up a workshop where he continues to pursue his passion for art and music (Hindustani classical) in his spare time.
He would like to make a difference by helping others around him who haven’t had the opportunity to explore their options and realize their dreams. He believes that these little things that can surely make a difference and make this world a better place. He strongly believes that education is a platform for growth and self-development that draws an individual to be self-motivated and go from being a functional individual to being an exceptional one.
